Cover & insurance
In Switzerland psychotherapy is largely covered - but the rules depend on who provides it and how you come to it. We explain it simply, so you immediately know what you are entitled to.

Many complementary insurances reimburse part of counselling and psychological-support sessions, even without a referral, up to an annual cap. It is worth checking your policy: we help you read it.
You can choose to pay for sessions privately, without involving insurance: it is the most confidential route, since no data about your path leaves the practice. Many people prefer it for exactly this reason.
Confidentiality & FAQ
Yes. As psychotherapists we are bound by professional confidentiality. Nothing that emerges in session is shared with family, employers or third parties without your explicit consent, except in the very rare cases foreseen by law to protect life.
For psychotherapy reimbursed by basic insurance (LAMal) you need a doctor's referral. For psychological support and counselling you can come by direct access, without a referral: in that case reimbursement goes, where applicable, through complementary insurance. On the first call we tell you exactly how to proceed.
If you choose the private, self-funded route, no data about your path leaves the practice. If instead you go through insurance, the usual billing and confidentiality rules of the Swiss healthcare system apply. We discuss it openly at the first meeting, so you can choose with peace of mind.
Yes. Video sessions are as effective as in-person ones for most paths, and follow the same confidentiality rules. They are especially convenient if you live far away, travel often or prefer your own home.
